My heart-tank felt so filled up after this shoot. Everyone that worked on it came from such a place of love and I felt surrounded by the loveliest of vibes the whole day. This shoot was all about showing the awesome potential of Luxe Camp Okanagan luxury tent rentals. Does this make the perfect elopement situation or what!? Or the backdrop of a ceremony… or a bachelorette party sleepover… a super fun kids tent at an event… a cool bar at an outdoor wedding…. so many options!

I was so excited that Yuriko, of Vintage Origami, came on board to bring this shoot to life. I think one of the things that makes Yuriko so successful in her business and fuels her creativity is that she truly does everything with love. She has the most gracious and giving heart and seeks to make everyone feel special and valued.

Everything clicked into place when Sanctuary Gardens warmly accepted our request of hosting this shoot on their beeeeauuutiful property in West Kelowna. Sanctuary Gardens is one of THEE most gorgeous ceremony venues in Kelowna. Guests sit under a beautiful white gazebo overlooking Okanagan Lake. Le Sigh…

Jenny McKinney pampered our model for this shoot with her hair and makeup talents. Jenny is another one of those treasures that puts so much love and thought into their work. As are Tracy of Luxe Camp Okanagan and Kirsten of Sanctuary Gardens. If you met them all, you would know what I meant about being surrounded by the most loving, positive vibes that day. : ) Everyone contributed something special.

I loved Vintage Origami’s sustainable approach to this wedding using fruit – that was later eaten and enjoyed! – for pops of colour, and potted plants from Crocus Floral Designs for greenery.

I absolutely fell in love with the wedding venue Gatzke Orchard in Oyama, BC this past year. It has so much rustic charm and beauty everywhere you turn. The ceremony is held in their beautiful orchard, then cocktail hour starts nearby under a gorgeous grape arbour tunnel before moving to a lovely open lawn (with string lights overhead for dancing later) for lawn games and the rest of cocktail hour. The intimate and unique mood is set for dinner under another awesome grape arbour. Eeee I love Gatzke Orchard so much and want to photograph a million more weddings there. I was so happy that the ambient light under the dinner grape arbour was great for me to shoot natural light for dinner and speeches as well. Yippee!

The bride, Kristen’s amazing taste combined with The Blushing Pear really showed throughout the day. The florals created by Classic Creations added so much beauty and atmosphere to each space and I was in love with the gorgeous bouquet she created for Kristen. Impressions Weddings saw to the coordination of the day at Gatzke Orchard and kept everything running on track and DJ Alex Bird supplied fantastic auditory atmosphere to the mix.

Kristen looked stunning in her Nicole Miller dress with chic make-up done by Jenny Mickinney and elegant hair by Inspirado Designs. I’m so happy for Kristen and Devin that their wedding at Gatzke Orchard turned out as beautifully as it did. Everywhere I turned there were people laughing and smiling. So much joy surrounding this lovely pair!

Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna, BC is one of my favourite wedding venues in the Okanagan and it’s always such a pleasure to shoot at this rustic, elegant venue. I love the way nature and vines are allowed to express themselves on this property. No overly groomed lawns or overly trimmed bushes. There is a realness and a slight wildness here that I crave to photograph.

I clicked with Pamela and Neil from the get go. They gave me tips for an upcoming Ireland trip and we gushed over our love of travel. I loved their positivity and easy-going vibe. Pamela was a bundle of enthusiastic joy as she got ready for her wedding. Her excitement over seeing her bouquet by Classic Creations and finished makeup and hair by Jenny Mckinney and Inspirado Designs had me grinning from ear to ear and fed my inspiration. When Neil saw Pamela for their first look, he gave one of the absolute sweetest reactions and they were like two kids waking up on Christmas morning.

Kaitlyn Ellis Events did such a wonderful job with planning and decor and everything came together perfectly. I’m so happy for Pamela and Neil and hope to meet them for a pint in Ireland someday. ; D

I was gaga over those white anemones!  1st look! I teared up from how happy and excited they were. This flower girl sampling her bouquet had me cracking up. Such a cutie. And as you can see from the photo on the right , the adults were eating flower petals too. ; D It’s like one of those “spot the difference” cartoons. hehe.
