Costa Rica Wedding Photographer – Trash the Dress!

This is how cool Amanda and Garrett are. We set out to do their trash the dress shoot and the first thing they say is, “Let’s take Jessica and Danielle to go see those monkeys!!” hahaha. I love it. : D That ended up being the highlight of my trip (see past blog post where I go see the monkeys)!

The first two shots below are my favourite shots we captured. Garrett burned rubber doing a u-turn on the road to get back to the yellow buss as I just HAD to get pictures with it and we were racing to get to Shell Beach before sunset. haha. Such a cool, quirky van! Love the signs like, “Free Sunsets”, “Free Snow Removal,” etc. haha. Awesome.

So after we got shots with the sweet bus, we raced off towards the setting sun, headed for the secluded Shell Beach (which we literally had to drive down the sand on another beach to get too). It’s unique because rather than sand, the beach is made up entirely of tiny seashells, all smooth (and not at all painful on the feet) due to the water weathering down all the edges over the years. I really wonder how it got to be that way! Note to self:  Investigate that.

We arrived at the beach in time for perfect lighting (yay) and proceeded to have a fantastic session! Amanda was a trooper with her heavy wet dress trying to drag her into the sea whenever she went near it. Danielle was an awesome help again to me too and I’m excited to see her shots too! : ) She came up with the rad idea of having the bride and groom where our snorkels. : D

Check out the last post to see Amanda and Garrett’s wedding pictures!

This was definitely one of my favourite shoots ever. Really happy with the result. : )

I’m looking forward to photographing more weddings in Guanacaste, Costa Rica in the future! Costa Rica has definitely already become one of my favourite destination wedding locations.

View Amanda & Garrett’s slideshow (with lot’s more photos) on my website. Simply click on “recent slideshows” along the top. : ) Thanks to Danielle for finding the perfect song to go along with it. The song is called “Costa Rica.” It will expire in March, 2010.

I think my favorite thing about this entire series is the fact that her hair is wet. It adds sooo much to the photographs. I also like the sand on her body and dress. Nice work!
