Fiona and Mike’s wedding party had me cracking up so much! The groomsmen were always making the funniest faces and goofing off constantly in front of the camera and off which always gets great photos. My second shooter/assistant Carley caught quite a few funny behind-the-scenes shots of them while I was photographing the bridesmaids or Fiona and Mike. I’ll post a little collage of some of the funny moment on my facebook page in the next few days when I post their photos there. It’s always a great idea to have at least one funny joke-cracker in the wedding party because I can’t tell you how many times they will make the whole wedding party crack up and get a great candid shot! We all had such a great time doing the wedding party photos.

Fiona and Mike got married at the Guisachan House in Kelowna which is a super cute heritage spot for more intimate weddings. I love all the beautiful flowers surrounding the place and that it’s more of a natural look and not too manicured.

You can see that Fiona and Mike are really committed to each other and know what they want in a partner and life. They also know know how to have fun and not take themselves too seriously. I had a blast at their wedding and wish them so much happiness!! Congrats again!

For those of you who don’t know, I was born in the Okanagan and other than my travel expeditions, I’ve lived in the Okanagan all my life. I love every inch of the Okanagan and Spirit Ridge Vineyard, Resort & Spa is one of my favourite spots in Osoyoos. So I was super excited when Melanie and Dennis asked me to photograph their wedding there and even happier when I got to meet them for their Engagement Shoot (read their sweet first meet story by Dennis) and see what an awesome couple they are! Spirit Ridge Vineyard, Resort & Spa is a gorgeous winery, surrounded by rows and rows of grape vines and then beyond that surrounded by Canada’s only desert, the Nk’Mip Desert, with pretty age brush galore. Right next to Spirit Ridge Vineyard, Resort & Spa is Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre as well where you can experience the native culture of the area and hopefully see a rattlesnake.

So on to Melanie & Dennis’s wedding! To start, it was a HOT day. 39 degrees to be exact! Everyone was such a great sport though and there was an awesome mood to the day all around which always gets my creative juices flowing. The ceremony was beautiful with sweeping views of Osoyoos in the background. We did the wedding party photos around the property and down the road a bit. We had some fun with ice cream- quick fun since it melted at an alarming rate in the heat and then headed back for the reception which was on the restaurant balcony.

Melanie and Dennis seem so at peace with life and seem like people who would enjoy the little moments in life as much as the big ones. They are both such nice, considerate people and both know how to laugh lot’s too. : ) They’re definitely a great match and I’m sure these two will be the kind of pair that will last till the end. : ) Congrats you two!
