So I read on Friday that the ladies behind Two Photogs were throwing a contest with the prize being a new mentor program they have started. So of course I had to jump at the chance which leads me to the photo. In order to enter, we were asked to do a self portrait of ourselves with our guilty pleasure. You are probably looking at my picture thinking, “huh?” Allow me to explain!
I love 80′s clothes! I don’t know what it is, but if I’m hunting through a thrift store and I see a really ugly gem sweater, a neon vest or some other 80′s treasure, I just gotta have it. It’s kinda like it’s so uncool that it becomes cool, ya know? Or as my sister would put it, “It’s so bad that it lapped crappy and became awesome.” I have a bit of a collection of horrible sweaters (although I can’t beat Leslie Hall’s awesome collection), acid wash anything, crazy sunglasses and more from the 80′s. Plus 80′s movies and 80′s music. What can I say- I love the most hated decade. Anytime I get an invite for an 80′s party, I am THERE, rocking out one of my outfits and attempting to dance like Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club.
I hosted two parties on the weekend so I was crazy busy the last few days and here I am racing to get this up before their deadline in 25 minutes!! Thanks for the awesome opportunity ladies!! You rock my 80′s world!
